About this policy
Applied Wizardry is a podcast hosted by Yaniv Bernstein. This policy covers our website and the private publishing tool used by the show's authorised team. Listeners do not need to connect a Google account to browse the website or listen to the podcast.
Information we handle
- Website visits: our hosting services process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages and diagnostic logs to deliver and protect the site.
- Analytics: when enabled, PostHog collects page views, clicks and other site interactions, along with browser and device information. It uses browser local storage to recognise visits. Session recording is disabled in our site configuration. You can restrict site storage and analytics requests through your browser settings or privacy tools.
- Correspondence and production: we handle information you send us, such as your name, email, enquiries, guest biographies, recordings and images, to respond to you and produce the show.
Google Drive and YouTube access
Our publisher uses Google Drive API and YouTube API Services. It reads episode files and metadata from Drive folders explicitly shared with its service account. It stages recordings and artwork, creates transcripts and draft episode information, and presents them for editorial approval.
When the channel owner authorises YouTube access, the publisher uses OAuth tokens to upload approved videos, titles, descriptions and thumbnails, set publication details, and add videos to a configured playlist. We store the credentials needed to maintain that connection, upload progress and resulting video identifiers. We do not collect your Google password. Google account permissions can be broader than the operations the publisher performs.
We use Google data for this publishing workflow, not for advertising profiles or selling personal information. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Google's processing is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Service providers and publication
Cloudflare hosts the website and publishing workflow, stores staged media and credentials, and provides AI processing for draft episode material. Supabase stores episode and workflow records. AssemblyAI processes recordings for transcription. Our configured podcast host, currently Podigee, receives approved audio and episode information; YouTube receives approved video and related information. PostHog receives website analytics when enabled. Email services process correspondence and publishing notifications.
These providers may process information outside your country. We share information as needed to operate the show, respond to requests, protect our services or meet legal obligations. Approved episodes, guest information, transcripts and artwork may be published on our site and distribution platforms. Links to other services are governed by those services' own policies.
Storage and retention
We restrict access to production systems and store publishing credentials as server-side secrets. No storage or transmission method is completely secure. We retain production files, records and correspondence while needed to produce and maintain the show, resolve issues and meet legal obligations. Published episodes and their supporting editorial records may be retained as part of the show's archive. There is currently no automatic deletion schedule for staged production media.
Your choices, access and deletion
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information by emailing yaniv@appliedwizardry.ai. Please identify the information concerned; we may need to verify your identity. We will explain any information that must be retained and why.
The channel owner can revoke the publisher's Google access through Google account permissions. Drive access can be removed by unsharing the relevant folder. Revoking access stops future authorised access but does not itself delete stored production records or already published episodes. Contact us to request deletion of stored information or credentials; videos can also be managed directly in YouTube Studio. Copies already distributed to other platforms may require separate removal requests.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. For privacy questions or complaints, contact yaniv@appliedwizardry.ai.
